                        A G E N D A

SB 2637    RELATING TO VICTIMS AND WITNESSES                  JDC
        Provides that victims and witnesses can testify at
        trial and grand jury by closed circuit video or video
        conferencing.

SB 3133    RELATING TO CRIME                                  JDC
        Prohibits the street solicitation of prostitution in
        the area in Wahiawa bounded by Kamehameha highway,
        Kilani avenue, Mango street, California avenue,
        Avocado street, and Olive street.

SB 2935    RELATING TO DANGEROUS DRUGS                        JDC
        Eliminates mandatory imprisonment for promoting
        dangerous drugs in the second degree and promoting
        dangerous drugs in the third degree.

SB 2629    RELATING TO DRUGS                                  JDC
        Repeals provisions that allow a conditional discharge
        and expunging of court records in a case where a
        person does not have a previous drug conviction.

SB 2631    RELATING TO OFFENSES AGAINST PROPERTY RIGHTS       JDC
        Permits use of photocopies of price or name tag of
        goods or printed register receipts as prima facie
        evidence of value and ownership of goods and
        merchandise.  Includes legal owner in definition of
        "owner" of propelled vehicle.

SB 2639    RELATING TO BURGLARY                               JDC

 
        Provides that a person may commit burglary even if
        initial building entry was lawful.  Defines "dangerous
        instrument".

SB 2436    RELATING TO THE PENAL CODE                         JDC
        Creates a class C felony offense for the manufacture
        or sale of false identification to a person under the
        age of twenty-one.

SB 3023    RELATING TO CRIME                                  JDC
        Clarifies cumulative punishment for both a felony
        involving firearm possession and firearms possession.

SB 2079    RELATING TO USE OF FORCE                           JDC
        Limits the justification for use of force against a
        minor.

SB 2371    RELATING TO INCOMPETENT PERSONS                    JDC
        Requires a reckless act to commit offense of
        endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies (1 sided) of
their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol,
24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if
less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Judiciary Committee
Office at (808) 586-7125 or (toll free for the neighbor islands)
to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 1-800-586-6659, at least
24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to
whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
